This doesn’t really count as news — I’ve written about this twice before, to no avail — but let’s just go ahead and post an update: Aaron Carter and Melanie Martin have called off their engagement.
Before we get ahead of ourselves, we should stress that the former child star and Martin, his fiancée of four months, actually welcomed a baby girl, a sibling for Carter’s two-year-old son, Hudson.
Since her pregnancy announcement, Martin (also known as “Melania Trump doppelgänger”) has been spotted out and about with Carter, looking as if they were in on the joke. Was it real? Of course. They shared a child together and worked together as producers on “Aaron’s Party,” and she’s written articles for his website since 2015.
“We both love kids. We wanted more.”
So, yeah.
But Carter and Martin — or “Aaron and Mela” as he likes to call them — finally called it quits. According to Us Weekly, Carter posted a message on Twitter confirming the split. He wrote, “Not much to say. Just wants to say thank you to everyone who supported us. Mela and I are done … at least for now. No drama, just love and respect.”
