Martha MacCallum interviewed Martin Regg Cohn, who argues that boycotting the Beijing Winter Olympics would send a strong message and send a big “hug” to China.
In particular, Cohn decries the Chinese government’s authoritarian tactics, which he calls the worst human rights abuses since Stalin.
Cohn says we shouldn’t ignore the situation because “you’re committing genocide and state terrorism in an effort to intimidate dissidents.” He argues that boycotting Chinese citizens’ February, 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing would help a lot of people.
